Civics and Government Team Up with Economics in Oaktown
New York, New York (PRWEB) March 5, 2008 -- The National Council on Economic Education (NCEE, http://www.ncee.net) unveiled its workshop schedule at the California Council for the Social Studies Conference (http://www.ccss.org) in Oakland on March 7-9, 2008.
Teachers will discover new tools and teaching techniques to help them infuse economics throughout their K-12 social studies curricula. Teachers leave each workshop with handouts and classroom resources that they can share with their fellow teachers and use with their students right away.
"With Election Day around the corner, it's important that students understand the role economics plays in our government, and how solid economic reasoning can help them become productive citizens," says Troy D. White, NCEE's Director of Product Marketing and Sales.
To demonstrate the connection between economics, civics and government, NCEE will present "Three's Company: Bundling Economics, Civics and Government Together" on Saturday, March 8th at 8:30 am.
Other workshops include "Solving Great Economic Mysteries in U.S. History," "Three Little Pigs: Adding Economics to the Elementary Classroom," and "Using Instructional Technology to Teach High School Economics."
Exhibit Booth and Learning Labs
During the conference, teachers can stop by booth #520 to browse NCEE's latest print and digital materials, and register to win an iPod shuffle.
NCEE will hold a Learning Lab in booth #518, where attendees can test-drive NCEE's multimedia resources like EconEdLink, Virtual Economics, Thinking Economics and Risky Business. At the Learning Labs, teachers will have the opportunity to win additional door prizes.

As we watch fewer Americans voting it is no wonder why, they have lost faith in their government.
